Ramble On

Nearly every fan I have comes to hear me sing this song. I met Robert Plant at one of my solo acoustic shows, big moment for me. He was very cool. I asked him to autograph my guitar and his guitar player noticed the lyrics to Ramble On taped to my guitar. He says to Robert, with his English accent, “she’s got the lyrics to Ramble On on her guitar?? ”Robert laughed and said, “ ya, I can’t remember the lyrics to any of my songs either...”

Ramble On

Leaves are falling all around, it’s time I was on my way

Thanks to you I’m much obliged for such a pleasant stay

But now it’s time for me to go, autumn moon lights my way

But now I smell the rain and with it’s pain and it’s headed my way

Oh sometimes I grow so tired, but I know I got one thing I got to do

Ramble on, now the time, the time is now to sing my song

Going around the world gonna find my girl I’m on my way

I’ve been this way ten years to the day

Gonna Ramble on, gotta find the queen of all of my dreams

Got no time for spreading roots, the time has come to be gone

And to our health we drank a thousand times and it’s time to ramble on

Life’s a tale that can’t be told, my freedom I hold hear

Years ago, in days of old, when magic filled the air

Was the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair

But Gollum, and the evil one crept up and slipped away with her, her, her.. ya

There’s nothing I can do now, so I’ll keep on

Did you know..?

"Ramble On" is a song by English rock band Led Zeppelin from their 1969 album Led Zeppelin II. It was co-written by Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, and was recorded in 1969 at Juggy Sound Studio, New York, during the band's second concert tour of the United States. In 2010, the song was ranked #440 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The song's lyrics were heavily influenced by The Lord of the Rings by J. R. R. Tolkien. The opening line ("Leaves are falling all around") is probably a paraphrase of the opening line of Tolkien's poem "Namárië". The poem may also be the inspiration for the entire first verse.  The Tolkien references later in the song refer to abstract themes - Mordor, and possibly Arwen (Elrond's daughter) - without specifically invoking Tolkien canon:
